Former hs or college athletes?

At my best (in college), i was 100lbs lighter and a competitive athlete. How do you adjust to working out again when you can't do it at the level you used to? Walking 30 min seems like nothing when i used to run 10 miles for workouts. What have you told yourself? How have you accepted your starting point and how far there is to go?

I am now half fast as I used to be in HS College and USMC. Then my miles splits were equal to my half mile splits now (about 5 minutes +/-). but that was some 40 years ago ;-) You do what you can and improve from there.0

Me!
I still exercise two hours a day when I am healthy. I just need to MOVE.
When I started losing weight, I was completely disabled after a serious illness. I could barely walk. I started with short strolls and very slow swimming and kept pushing my goals higher.
The only thing that you can do is to start where you are and slowly work your way up to intense workouts again. Good luck!1
