Looking for HRM Suggestions

I have used a Timex HRM with chest strap for a couple years now and liked it just fine, but it finally shot craps. So, I could buy a new one of the same model, or go for something different. Does anyone have a HRM they love?? I don't need something super fancy, and don't want to pay a small fortune, but I'm getting more serious about my running (training for my first half mara) and do use it at the gym as well. I'd love some suggestions, as it seems there are so many to choose from, I don't know where to start. Please let me know what you have and why you love it.

I have a Polar FT40. I love it! When I was looking I heard great things about all the Polars, they have several different models at different prices. I heard great things about them all. I ordered mine from Amazon.

I use the Garmin FR610 and the 910XT which are higher end Garmins, but I know many people who use the lower end models and love them.
