Carb Paranoia

So I've been on here since March 17 and have lost about 20 pounds by staying in a calorie deficit , working out and lower carb/lower sugar, not necessarily Atkins just minimizing the intake . Now I've been adding more carbs in with staying in that deficit and I keep getting this paranoia that I'm going to stop losing or start gaining. Any advice for my crazy train of thought ?

Just make sure you keep eating less calories than you burn...simple as that.2

What I would say is, it's not the end of the world if you noticing yourself gaining weight. You simply adjust your diet. I know seeing the numbers go down on the scale can get addicting but you must remember it's not a race. Besides, if you stay within your deficit I doubt you'll gain weight anyway.1

It's all about the calorie deficit in whatever macro ratio that keeps you happy.1

If you gain a little weight while adding carbs (while still in a deficit) it is more then likely glycogen in the muscles (a good thing). Along with scale weight, take waist, neck, shoulder and thigh measurements. Tells a more complete story. The scale tends to lie by omission...1

Thanks everyone! I hate that I allow myself to freak out over these things. I used to freak out if the scale went up a few pounds not realizing that happens and will go back down. Depends on the amount of sodium you've had or if you just chugged a liter of water. So I'm learning. Appreciate the words0

I was feeling paranoid about carbs too, and didn't eat any yesterday. By the time I got home ~6:30 I felt so awful, no energy, a little nauseated and a headache. Honestly I think the lack of carbs was making me feel ill, had rice with dinner and felt almost immediately better.
Don't be scared of some carbs! I brought a sandwich thin with me today so I can get some carbs/energy with lunch and hopefully avoid the feelings of yesterday.0 -
