I'm doing absolutely horrible. Everywhere I turn people have new advice for what I should do to lose weight. I have a question, does calorie counting really work?

Yes ofcourse it works. But you MUST be consistent and honest. So consistent, honest calorie counting does indeed work.0 -
Get a food scale and start logging everything you eat.
I have an open diary - holds me accountable. Try that?0 -
Yes 52lbs later and I am still counting.
YOu have to log accurately and consistently using proper tools like a food scale for solids and make sure the entries are correct.
If you are using MFP it is designed to help you lose weight without exercise but if you do exercise that gives you more food to eat....50-100% of those calories can and should be eaten back.
As well just set a reasonable goal and make sure you don't follow a fad that says you "can't" eat this or that.
Don't give up those foods you love and crave just fit them into your day. I always fit in a treat..everyday.2
