Best way to track treadmill - calories burned

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if anyone has feedback on the best way to track calories burned while on a treadmill. I don't quite trust my treadmill because it doesn't give me an opportunity to enter any of my own stats (my age and weight) and the apps I've found don't let me enter if I'm walking with an incline or adjust the speed much. Any thoughts?

Heart rate monitor. Fitbit, apple watch or something similar. It will have your stats and accurately track your heart rate better than a treadmill can.
I use my apple watch and as soon as I'm done I open the MFP app and BAM exercise logged!0 -
Use these as a sanity check
Walking........ .30 x weight (in lbs) x distance(in miles)
Running......... .63 x weight x distance

The formula assumes relatively flat terrain so you'll be burning more on an incline (I don't have adjustment factors for that) and the formula doesn't apply to race walking which, apparently, due to it's mechanical inefficiency burns a bit more than running.1
