motivation?

what is your motivation for sticking to a healthy eating plan? i have 60+ lbs to lose and i just can't seem to get in motion! i will do awesome for breakfast, then by lunch, i ruin everything. i say "tomorrow is a new day" but i end up eating something horrible by the end of the day. i don't know what is wrong with me...i used to be very dedicated to health & fitness. i lost 60 pounds, then gained it back due to pregnancy, 2 surgeries, etc. so now i'm back to where i was in 2012, and i just can't seem to gain motivation this time.

I am very inspired by the documentary by Michael Pollan called "Cooked". It's available on Netflix.

Now this may seem a little silly, but I love popcorn. I love to have it every night. So I prelog it when I log breakfast, so my remaining calories are easier to figure out for lunch, dinner, and afternoon snack. If I go off track during the day, then I don't get my popcorn and that makes me very sad.

It is hard to lose weight. I love food, and eating at a deficit takes motivation and planning. Maybe you're just not ready yet. Keep logging and make it a habit, but make sure you are at maintenance. I will guess after a little while, you'll be ready to cut the calories back.

Plan your day of food in the morning. Do not plan to drive through anywhere. Do not plan to eat a bag of anything. Do not plan to eat the free samples at Whole Foods. I mean, PLAN. Start before breakfast and plan a meal that delivers about 1/3 of your calories and all macros for the day. Before you eat breakfast plan a lunch, a dinner, and any low-cal snacks you intend to have. Plan all that to be under your calorie goal for the day and then eat your plan.
