I started running 2 weeks ago last week I sts and this week I gained 2lbs . I get that I could be holding water but jeez really 2 weeks running? I'm not new to exercise before running I did body combst and zumba so didn't think it would be that bad.. I was really good this week too weighing measuring everything. How long does it take for water retention to go?

I have long runs every Saturday and am usually up a couple pounds the next day. It goes away after 2-3 days. If you've been weighing and logging your food just be patient - it'll come right off.

I feel you. I have the same problem where I am not losing or gaining weight. I am staying at the same weight even though I am eating 1200 calories.

You could be retaining water...or, it's possible that you're overestimating the amount of calories burned by running. That's a pretty common occurrence.

I'm blaming it on muscle mass. I've never had bigger legs in my life until I started running. (My husband says I've gone from chicken legs to turkey legs) :D However, they look killer in a skirt. Make sure you are getting enough water so that you are not holding on to it in the long run. I generally drink 100 oz a day now, and more when I'm sweating it out.

Not likely. If OP has the secret to putting on a pound of muscle a week while in a deficit, she can retire in style selling that secret to bodybuilders the world over.

Diary looks good (weighing food, not eating back too many exercise calories). Another vote for fluid retention -- the bugaboo of those new to an exercise.

I didn't see this response, but don't worry about the scale, worry about how your clothes fit.
