    Get the RockMyRun app. You can choose multiple genres at multiple bpms. Great for any exercise, not just running.

    It depends - to me, a cardio playlist will sound a bit different than a weight-lifiting playlist.

    I have a playlist I originally made for Zombies5K that I find helpful - I choose songs (besides their awesomeness) for their tempo and overall tone. My tastes run the gamut from techno to industrial to metal to Japanese to video game/anime soundtracks... so some might be a tad weird.
