If you go out and eat an X amount of foods, then track the amount of water you drink after, from the weight gained shown up on the next day's routine weighing are you able to deduce roughly how many calories you have eaten?
Is there any food that weighs 1 lbs of its own but would cause you to gain more than 1 lb (not counting the water you drink)?

Food that makes you retain water may cause a temporary weight blip out of proportion to your calorie intake - high salt, carbs if you are glycogen depleted, alcohol.....
Exercise or inflammation can do the same.
The amount of food in your GI tract is variable.
No you can't work out your calories eaten the day before by your day to day changes in bodyweight.

Thanks, sijomial.
Do you know if an x lbs gain after a certain number of hours is like the final result of that meal, or if certain foods (or the way the body works) continue to "unpack" slowly the calories after that and cause more weight increase?
It's so interesting to look at the nature of fluctuation.0
