Hi! Ok, so just got my new (and first!) fitness watch and am raring to go! Set it up and everything, even read all of the user manual (i know right?).

So how social is this thing and how do i add other exercises except running, cycling or swimming?

Good choice on watch. I have the Fenix 3 and love it. Try the IQ connect for other fitness apps or widgets. I'm not sure what you're looking for from the watch. Mine is used for daily steps ,running, and gym and polymetrics.

I use a Vivoactive for step, activity and sleep tracking. I'll send you a connection request. User ID there is the same as here.

Oh, and you should be able to add more activities through the Connect app on your phone. I've loaded mine with treadmill and outdoor runs and walks, plus indoor cycling.

Im looking to use mine for steps, heart rate monitoring, calories burned, exercise logging and sleep monitoring. But mostly to kick my bum into gear whenever i become lax with moving about. Hahahaha!

On another note, how do i add people?

Another question: does active calories not sync with mfp? I've already done a number of steps and it says i burned 31cals but it's not appearing on mfp.

P.P.S. And what's calories remaining? There's active calories and calories remaining in my home screen. Plus stairs climbed isnt registering :(

You will have calories it gives you for steps and separate calories for exercise. You need to use the "stop watch" or the exercise activty to log your activities using the device. If you do not use the activity, you will get steps for your exercise activities and not the heart rate data calculated for steady state cardio (running, walking, cycling, etc..) The watch will allow you to do other activities, go the activities screen and look at the various things you can do activity wise.

The calories it says it has given you so far is for calories calcutated only for steps taken so far for the day.

You need to setup Garmin to sync with MFP. It will bring over steps calories (it will make an adjustment to your MFP calories not a separate line item) and your activiteis will be listed as a separate line item under MFP Exercise. I do not think the vivosmart does stairs or floors (but the HR version may, the standard one without HR did not).

The active calories on the garmin connect or app, is all your calories burned though activities and calories it has given you for steps. Calories remains are the calories in and calories out difference..

It seems that you may need some help finalizing the setups of the watch or some needed how to's to get the most out of your new tracking device.

Well, my garmin connect steps are appearing in mpf, currently at 555 as im preparing for my day. But the calories burned aren't syncing. I dunno, maybe just a few teething problems as im using the device.

It takes some time for activity data to sync to MFP, but you can force a sync by logging into connect.garmin.com in your browser.
