I feel dumb asking this, but I always see people respond to other posters with an @, but I can't figure out how to do it. I figured out how to quote, but that even takes me several times at editing before I get it right.

just type @ and then their user name, with no spaces in between. It will automagically create a hyperlink and notify that person.

    Is *that* what that does?

I just thought it more of an attention getter for the person being replied or typed to.

yeah, then that user gets a little "notification" on their home page? Or maybe it's on every page. Dunno. I never notice them till a week later, so it must be on the Home page.

@glassyo Depending on how your notifications are set, you should have a notification that I mentioned you in a post, now.

LOL ok it showed up when I pressed the notification bell thingy but I wasn't paying attention to mfp after I posted so it could have done the announcement when I was away.
