Question for those who have done Insanity

Morning all!
I'm heading out on vacation for a week on the 22nd of this month.....the week I'm scheduled to start the 2nd month of Insanity.
Here's my question......do I really want to start the 2nd month of insanity while on vacation, or should I just extend my recovery week, and end up doing 2 weeks of recovery?
I wasn't sure it it would be a "step back" to extend that for an additional week.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! It would probably be REALLY bad to take a week off completely, and then jump into month 2 when I get back......right?

Yeah, it would be really bad to take a week off completely. Month 2 is brutal. Is there any reason you can't just start month 2 while on vacation? If you can't or don't want to, just do another recovery week, that would be your best bet.0

I think you would be fine to do another recovery week!
I would NOT take off the entire week right before diving into Month 2.0 -
i dont know, do you want to start month 2 on vacation?
i never even consider working out while on holiday, but if you do, then go for it!0 -
I would say do the fit test while you're on vacation maybe every other day something like that unless you're too busy. Or maybe when you get back just do like a week of just straight fit test to get yourself back into the groove.0

Why don't you want to workout while on vacation?0 -
It's not that I "don't want to work out" while I'm on vacation - if I did, I wouldn't have even asked and wouldn't even be considering extending my recovery week.
Month 2 workouts are longer and more intense than Month 1. I would work out either early in the morning, or late at night--since the days will be so busy and I would rather be out on the beach with my family than holed up inside working out. We'll be in a 5th floor condo and I really don't want to be jumping, stomping, running, and waking everyone up in the condo below us!
My coworker just started Month 2 on Saturday and strongly advised that i DO NOT start it while on vacation. I will likely extend my recovery week and begin Month 2 when I get back.
Thanks for all of your suggestions!0 -
The recovery week doesn't have enough cardio/intensity on its own to prepare you for going into month two for a second week. Maybe alternate it with the first month routines.0
