Seriously, I hate oatmeal. XD I love oatmeal cookies though, so that's where the inspiration for this came from, plus some ideas online:

Why don't you just add protein powder to your oatmeal cookies?

At 650 calories, yeah, I'm sure I could make some tasty oatmeal too, but I don't think it would really taste like oatmeal LOL.

I don't really mind oats with some protein powder though.

Oh it's just a way to get rid of the protein powder. Gonna change to hemp seeds eventually.

Sometimes I'm starving in the morning and I'm out of cookies? I could bake this too.

There's nothing unhealthy in it. <.< it's just a whole cup of dried oats that adds the calories. I couldn't finish it. There's also half a cup of water but I like, didn't remember to add it.

There's nothing wrong with calories. There's a saying, you know: eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.

I have no issues with oatmeal other than the texture. Always makes me gag, even when it tastes great :'(

I hated oatmeal, but kept at it! Now I love it! I can't eat quick oats though it's steel cut oats for me with fruit and a dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt!!! Mmmmm!!!!

You could try steel cut oats - IMO they have a much better texture than rolled oats. Slightly chewy rather than eating mush.

    I'll try that out, thanks!

My day doesn't end well if it doesn't start with my oatmeal porridge bowl ... a medium egg beaten up in a cup of water, a half cup of old-fashioned dry oats added in, a half cup of blueberries or whole cranberries, or a half a banana, or a cup of strawberries (fruit from the freezer) add on top, all zapped in the microwave until done (in a big bowl because it rises up so much while cooking tht it can overflow and spill out) ... then topped with 1/2 tsp or more of ground cinnamon ... and my morning 2 cups of coffee ... and my day is SET!

You can't eat steel cut oats as a quick, cold porridge though. You'd have to make some overnight oats for that.

I tried steel cut oats, but they weren't like...versatile. I like being able to turn my oats into flour if I need some.

Sounds yummy! Maybe like grits? Never thought to do this.

Porridge should be made with water and salt! Water and salt, I tell you! Nothing else!

(I add chocolate, raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon to mine. But Mr. Garage is a true Scotsman... at least in the matter of porridge)
