I am 76 yoa, in pain from spinal stenosis which also causes depression and am an emotional eater. I just ate my way through a million calories (slight exaggeration) as pain and gloom have dominated my day. It's a cold, cloudy day which affects my pain and depression. Any suggestions?

I have a lot of pain issues too, and I understand those days when you just feel like eating your feelings. The thing that keeps me from drowning my pain in a giant bowl of ice cream is that I know that for every pound I lose, I put off the three surgeries I need just a little while longer. I'll have to have them eventually because I have a congenital problem that basically eats my joints, but when I do, the lower weight will help make recovery easier too.
