Just finished Week 3. For Week 1, I lost 6.4 pounds but my actual net consumed calories for the week was -1953. Since my daily total is 500 less then maintain weight for a 1#/week loss, dividing 1# by 3500 calories deficit for the week gives me a factor of .000286 to multiply time the total caloric over or under for the week, adding the 1# to that number.
So....manual loss for week one showed 1.558 loss versus actual loss of 6.4 pounds.
week two showed a manual loss of 0.715 versus an actual loss of 3.0 pounds.
week three showed a manual loss of 1.333 versus an actual loss of 1.6 pounds.
So....does this simply show that week one is a blowout due to water loss and getting the body onto the program, week two narrowed a little so that the computer calculation was a little closer to my actual loss, then week three was almost exactly right on. This (so far) is showing that the body is closing in on getting used to this adventurous fun!!! or, I am lucking out so far in my calculations coming closer to actual weight loss.
However, I just today recalculated my diet fitness profile, moving my daily calorie goal from 2,000 per day (taking into account the -500 for 1#/week loss goal) to 1970 per day. So I am curious to see how this affects the predicted loss versus the actual.
So, if it never gets close, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? That I have the wrong TDEE? OR, is there THAT LONG of a lead time for calories burned to actually show up on the scale?
That would be another general question, how long 'usually' does it take for calories burned to 'usually' show up on the scale, even though I know this is not linear and varies from person to person, maybe more for males vs females.
Thank you!

Week one you lost water and glycogen stores. That accounts for a large portion of initial weight loss. Ensure you are logging accurately and give it more time before jumping to conclusions or trying to make sense of the data.
There is not time frame for calories burned to "show up" because you can't account for the various fluctuations in weight. Calories burned is only one part of the equation, logging as accurate as possible is very important if you are going to try to analyze the data.0 -
