Gaining weight since treadmill workouts..?

Hi
I have about 8lbs to lose. Started to eat in calorie deficit 2 weeks ago then introduced interval training on treadmill a week ago. Now for the last week there has been no weight loss and the odd 1lb gain! Am I doing something wrong?
I'm not eating back my exercise calories and running every day. Thanks in advance!

Any change in exercise routine will usually cause a temporary weight gain, because your muscles are retaining water in order to repair themselves. It will pass.5

As a matter of fact, I would be enthralled with only a 1lb increase lol

Thanks for your replies. Any other advice on what I should change if anything, to combat this?0

zinc has been proven to help reduce water retention but if I remember correctly the pathway that is associated with it is by reduction of estrogen. so if you were going to use it, I would say only use a small dose.
another way would be a natural diuretic such as dandelion root, which is perfectly safe as long as you are not allergic to it.1 -

Just wait, it'll pass.
To be honest 1lb is lost in the noise, your bodyweight will fluctuate by more than that in the course of a day.2 -

No joke, my weight went up FIVE POUNDS within a weekend.
It was a ~cheat weekend, but I have a feeling it has way more to do with a combo of not enough fluids, too much salt, and skipping a run.
OP, weight fluctuates quite a bit. A pound or two is nothing to worry about1
