  • I go to the Farmer's Market, but it's because I'm in California and you can find some amazing things at the FM that you can't find at your local grocery store, not even the "fancier" ones. Like.. smoked olives (really good). There was a mushroom (the legal kind) guy that had 8 or 9 different varieties as well (I love mushrooms... only the legal kind).

Climate change is real, but what you can do about does depend a little on who you listen too. I am happy giving my money to the local people who make great tasting food or grow thigns that taste more ripe. It does depend a little on where you live though. I'm sure you are not going to get much in the middle of winter in N.D. Except for Bison meat of course.

Sorry... couldn't help but to bust out laughing at this... (*whispers* and carbon footprinting is just a marketing ploy that makes you feel guilty too but that's another thread)...

No college for you eh? No worries. It's just another ploy.

  • If you live in an area where the food you want happens to grow locally, and you're happy to shop for it, then it works.

If I "ate locally," I would be eating mostly cotton, or paying someone over the odds to grow things here that don't grow well here.

(Even if I lived on an organic farm, I would probably still shop at the supermarket unless we were growing vegetables that could jump out of the ground and clean themselves.)
