Hi, just after some advice, this time last year I was able to run at 10/11 min miles, I ran 5 half marathons last year, I am debating whether to enter a half marathon coming up in 8 weeks. I am still running a bit maybe twice three times a week including one long run (yesterday 7 miles) but I am struggling big time, I could easily run without having to stop last year, but finding it really difficult lately.

I started a bootcamp training course February which I take maybe once twice a week which are an hour long, also use kettlebells and resistance training at home.

I also work and have 3 young children.

Maybe I am overdoing it, but just concerned as I cant seem to run for long without stopping ..x

Is your pace the same as it was last year? Are the routes similar? How is your eating and sleeping... similar to where you were last year?

I assume the job and 3 kids aren't new in the last year... but the bootcamp and kettlebells are?

Overdoing it is a combination of how hard you are pushing yourself physically compared to how well you are fueling your body and allowing it to recover. Taking everything at face value, I don't think what/how much you're doing is anything crazy, but if you're not eating and sleeping enough to support your exercise and your lifestyle, then you could be overdoing it.

    Thanks for reply ,
my pace is much slower lately, since the bootcamp really. The routes are the same, eating and sleeping is fairly same.

I don't go crazy with the exercise as don't have much time I usually exercise around 5 hours a week, and I do tend to push myself whilst training.

Maybe I am just having a bad week, hopefully fingers crossed ill get back to normal next week :)

That was going to be my next question... how long have you been feeling this way? If it's only been a week or 2, and your calorie deficit and rest are both reasonable, then give it time. Things happen, bad weeks and months happen. Be patient.
