No, don't add bad food. But, maybe use a T of olive oil in your salad (120 calories) to keep a little healthy fat in your system to keep hair and skin healthier. Schedule a healthy lunch including a lean protein and salad, fruit or vegetable. Just by adding that 120 worth of healthy oil calories to even one meal you're doing a good thing. Salmon for dinner, as an example - a little higher calorie than chicken on an ounce to ounce basis, but loaded with healthy omega 3 fatty acid, good for so many reasons. These are just examples, but you get the drift0 -

If you aren't weighing your food, it's likely that you're eating more than 1200 calories. A food scale is a great tool to have while you're losing so you can ensure your portions are what they should be.
^^^ this! people often underestimate what "4 ounces of chicken breast" actually looks like and log it incorrectly which equates in inaccurate logs and overeating0 -

900 calories a day is not "doing it right" unless the OP is under close supervision by her doctor. And telling her that it's right is dangerous and should not be allowed on these boards.2 -

my basic day is like this:
start with a 2 egg omlette with onion tomato and mushrooms
ill have a snack like a home made pb banana muffin made with whole wheat flour greek yogurt and protein powder
for dinner ill have a small chicken breast with a tbsp of hp bbq sauce and a large salad with cucumber mushrooms peppers celery carrots and 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar or some homemade turkey chili full of veggies and beans
ill have another snack of a hard boiled egg or a little cottage cheese and some olives (i drink a ton of water my doctor told me to get more salt so i love olives and pickles) and if im still hungry i throw in another salad
like thats lots of food...isnt it O_O and not much that is to hard to log, i just cant seem to hit the 1200 calories
Well, I don't even track *all* the nutrients I probably should, but I sometimes have a hard time hitting the minimum requirement for iron with a 2000 calorie intake.
It doesn't really sound like a lot of food to me. But it does sound like it could easily be more than 1200 calories. If you're losing an appropriate amount of weight with that plan (2 lbs a week, or less) then I don't see a huge problem if you choose to not buy a scale. But when you're trying to lose the last 5 lbs and your idea of 1200 calories isn't working anymore, the best suggestion is to buy a scale.0 -
