Anyone figure out how to lose the last 20 pounds?

I am 20lbs away from my goal weight...I am eating right and trying to find the right exersizes to do. I've been eating right and staying active for a month and a half and have not lost even one pound.

I see posts where people can lose more than that in less than a month...and I know if you have more to lose you can elliminate soda, drink more water, etc and pounds just drop off but not for the last 10-15-20lbs.

Got any proven ways to get rid of the last of it once and for all...and keep it off?

Thank you

  • That's where I am too. I'm really looking forward to hearing what people have to say. I don't want to drag this weight around with me forever, but I keep hitting one plateau after another. I'm starting to worry that at this point I'm just fighting my natural shape, but if this is my natural shape that's really REALLY depressing.

Once I am off the DL I am exercising each day. Not the walk to the corner crap I have been doing, but the sweat in my eyes for 30 minutes plus kinda work out.

I would be interested in others ideas on how to burn those last unwanted:devil: pounds, too:heart:

Try something different, exercise wise maybe your body is already used to whatever you've been doing. Try kickboxing, or a different cardio program, I heard Jillian Michael 30 day Shred is amazing, I am expecting it this week I want to alternate my exercise routine... LOL my friend said I am trying to send my body in shock by using that DVD but hey am up for the challenge.

I've read a few posts on this, but I am NOT speaking from experience (I still have a TON to lose!!). There is also a woman at work who is going through the same thing.

Everything I've heard or read say you need to shake it up a little. vary your calories a little... one day eat all your calories, the next maybe only eat half your exercise calories. Do different workouts, your body gets used to the same workouts after awhile. Work out at a different time of the day, if possible... but I've also heard that the last 20 is the hardest to lose... it takes awhile!!

Good luck, and hopefully I'll be there soon!!

also, do a search in the forums of "last 20 ponds." Lots of posts come up that may help, or at least let you know you're not alone!!

  • The Last 20lbs are the hardest to loose, I have been trying to loose my last 20 most of the last 10 years. It is harder to keep them off as well, you really need to look at what you are eating. And I know that a lot of people say you have to watch your calories, but you also have to watch your sugar intake. THere are a lot of foods out there with a lot of sugar in them. If you don't burn your sugar off it turns to fat. If you know how to change your profile settings, I would add sugar as a catagory that is seen on your food profile. Also you do need to keep changing things up becuase your body will get used to excersise faster. It is frustrating, becuase it is not as easy it seems. Good luck girls and hang in there!!!! Oh and it might be a good idea to add in some weight lifting. It is a good way to tone muscle which will burn mor calories in the long run!
