Is there an explanation why weight loss slows down when everybody get so close to their goals? And is there a way to hasten it?

I think when you get close to goal you have less of a deficit to play with so it becomes even more important to be accurate with logging your intake. For me this has meant weighing all solids in grams, not trusting the weights of pre-packed items eg bars and weighing them too & also making sure the food entries I use in the database are accurate (generally usda / or at least matching the info on the pack I have). How is your logging?
It's maybe also easier to mask loss with water retention etc when goals are smaller.
Congrats on your achievements so far & just remember that progress, however small, is still progress.2 -
Yup, the closer you get to your goal weight, the less wiggle room you have for inaccuracies in weighing and logging.
There is no safe and sustainable way to hasten this progress towards your goal weight. Just tighten up your logging and slowly coast towards the finish line.

The lighter we become the less calories our bodies need, slower loss can happen if we aren't logging accurately which means smaller deficit or no deficit at times. Also our bodies burn less calories for exercise the lighter we are.2

Our metabolisms naturally shift in response to our calorie intake. That is why weight loss rates change over time. If you're still making progress, then keep your calories up as long as you can, so you have more room to make adjustments.1

Yes I think u're right....I think I made a mistake when I just followed 1200 calories....there is no room manipulating them when weight loss slows down or plateaus. ..
I will keep doinh what I am doing and see
