When did you start seeing those muscles?

How long did it take before you started to see definition? I was looking at my arms this morning and am beginning to see the rounding of the shoulder cut in and then starts to bulge back out again at the biceps. I'm so psyched! I've seen some awesome arm pics on this site (men and women) and is definitely motivation to keep lifting :)

I'm lean so any muscle shows, I can be relatively weak and still pretty cut. I think it's more a body fat thing than anything else.

And YES shapely arms rock, congratulations on your progress!

I've lost a lot of weight and have tried to keep up lifting weights for several years. Been fat all my life so I never knew what was under there LOL.

I didn't either. LOL! I've been lifting for close to a year and I'm just now after a couple months starting to see a difference. I think I managed to put on a smidgen of muscle, but the majority of what I'm seeing is due to my fat percentage getting lower now. Still have a long way to go, but I see a little difference in my shoulders/arms, and my abs are starting to pop a bit too.

it took me a good minute I'm finally showing a lot of definition on my upper body, striations and vascularity on my shoulders, biceps and forearms, at 16% bodyfat. I started at 21% with very little definition. it all depends on your body type and bf% though, I still have very little to no visable ab or chest definition which is pretty sucky but I am workin on it!!

It's completely dependant on body fat percentage. I have rounded shoulders up to 15% but my true muscular separation doesn't come out till about 10%. Just know you cannot build muscle and lose fat at the same time. It's one or the other.

Sorry should've added that body fat percentages for women will be much higher due to their naturally higher fat levels.

Thanks! Can't wait to see what I have after I get the rest of my weight off. I don't want crappy looking arms so I'll keep it up :)
