Can I lose 50-60 pounds in 5 months?

Hi guys! I'm 23, 5'7 and currently at 258.
I've been starting on a diet for a week or 2 now . My goal is to get too around 200 by the end of October. Ive been eating a lot more salads and fruits and veggies. Trying to quit all the bad stuff and for exercise I do 30 mins of high intensity interval running and weight lift and other exercises for 20mins. I'm also on my feet 7 hours out of the day at work. I'm worried that all this won't work since I've been a bit bigger most of my life.

As with everything - give it time. Do your absolute best and you will see great results. Key? Log EVERYTHING. Be very conscious of what you are putting in your mouth. Have you figured out what your caloric deficit should be?

Set your daily goals reasonable and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Yes I think you can. Someone starting smaller, maybe not.

The salads and fruits and veggies are all good, exercise is good, but the real key to success is good measurement and consistency.

Get a digital food scale if you do not have one and use it to weigh you food. Since you are starting at a higher weight you can still lose with a good bit of inaccuracy, but if you want to pursue a relatively aggressive rate of loss then you want every possible advantage.

And 5-6 months is a long haul. Don't expect to be always perfect. Log whatever you do eat as best you can and still have a life.

I started Dec. 7 at 211 and now I'm at 158 per my home scales. I had cheat days for Christmas/NYE and some treat meals and days at maintenance along the way. Sometimes I lost quickly and sometimes I didn't lose any at all for 10-12 days.

    Just keep at it.

It would take some serious work, it is possible. The process is probably more important than the immediate results, good luck to you in your weight loss voyage!
