Abs on an overweight person?

Hi,

So I went to a pretty intense exercise class for almost 2 months, 1hr each day. After this class, I lost about 15 pounds, got some muscles on my arms, legs, etc. I still have a pretty good size belly (by good i don't mean small, overweight size..) but it got kind of hard in top abs area. Im still about 50 pounds overweight (I'm 26, 5.4, 185 pounds)..

Can those be abs or is something wrong with me???

nope @LilyM555 those are def abs but its just the bodyfat % is still to high for them to give that POP and 3d look. ab muscles themselves can be way developed before even showing until the bodyfat is reduced. I to have only seen the top 4 out of the 6 pack on my stomach due to having a lot of lower belly fat, but it all boils down to just tightening the stomach and getting those babies to show! I'm no expert by any means in the AB department but it sure is motivating when you can finally see a little outline!!

You always have abs. They are your abdominal muscles.

What makes them visible is a lower bodyfat%.

This guy (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, awesome strongman) has abs but also body fat.

Unless you have any other symptoms of an intestinal/abdominal issue, I suspect that you're just feeling the muscle under your fat.
