welcome. there are a lot of runners here from beginners to ultramarathoners.

they are the most support group of people i've ever met.

come check out the groups and monthly challengers.

don't forget to have good fitted shoes and to go slow

Good luck Dave, just getting back into running and getting used to all. Just remembering that it gets better and soon I'll be able to walk after a run and not cry.

I just had my first run since winter yesterday. 500 m and I'm out of breath, but I am going to stick with it through the summer and do a 5K. We can do it!

Just started running and logging on MFP again, lost the habit of doing both, but want to run a marathon in January next year. Let's keep each other motivated! Feel free to add me :)

Once you feel comfortable look for the Monthly Running challenge group

Jealous--I love running but I'm laid up post-ACL surgery and I cannot run for another 6 months.

Invest in the right running shoes--get fitted at a running store if possible. Start slow. Good luck!

I just started too. There is a route that is 2.3 miles near my house so I do that. At the moment I can do it in 33 mins and that is a mix of walking and jogging. When I get to a point where I only have to walk once or twice to catch my breath I will increase to a 5k route.

I've booked a 5k race for life in July and a 10k Mo run in November so hopefully I'll be good enough for those by then!

    Good luck!
