Calorie Deficit Tdee Query

I have always overridden MFP and just put my own cals in and deactivated the exercise logged so I don't eat the calories back to lose weight quicker *yes crazy*.

After finally being free of a 25 year old eating disorder for 5 years, I want to do this weight loss malarkey the proper way, as how I have done it before has only gotten me into trouble.

So, my BMR is 1572 and my Tdee is 1808 making my net cals 1445. I'm unable to do much exercise so have set my activity level as sedentary. My fitbit is linked again so will show up in my figures to give me more. My question is, now that I have all the settings set correctly MFP is giving me a net of 1200, surely this is too low? or has it put it like that so that any steps I take each day will add say 400 on so will in essence eat 1600?

Is all this sounding right? I have a hell of a lot of weight to lose and want to finally get it right, but scared of putting weight n eating my exercise/walking calories.

What is your setting for number of pounds per week? If you have chosen 2, then MFP is trying to give you a deficit of 1000 calories per day, and you don't have room for that. Try 1 lb per week.

I would keep it simple. My fitbit gives me a pretty decent idea of what my TDEE is for a day. If I want to lose a pound/week, I eat about 500 fewer kcals than what my fitbit says for that day. If you haven't lost about 3 lbs 3 weeks later something is off, so just adjust your deficit accordingly. Much easier than worrying about activity levels and "eating back."

You not likely burn 400 calories in an average day for steps.

If you setup MFP for 2 pound weight loss or even 1.5 weight loss, the most MFP will allow you to eat is 1200 calories as to keep within the "safety" guidelines for your personal stats.

Change the 2 pounds or 1.5 pounds to 1 pound or even .5 pound and play with how you want to loose.

MFP is not TDEE it is NEAT. So eat back the "exercise" (the adjustment) if you get the adjustment for step calories during any one day.

You can eat back the calories from your fitbit adjustment as long as the calories that you burn are not a negative. A negative mean fitbit does not show you burning enough to allow MFP to say you have XX numbers from exercise today.
