Healthy breakfast on the go

Hello everyone, I'm a student and I have very little or almost no time for breakfast... I want to avoid eating stuff from bakery near my university because I really want some healthier options what do you guys eat on the go early in the morning? Little note - I'm lactose intolerant so avoid suggesting anything that contains milk, yoghurt etc. in it

Heya! I suffer from the 'no time in the mornings' thing, too. Here are some things I've found that work really well for me and my loved ones:
- The pre-done oatmeals that just have you add water to the plastic cup. Not so great for the environment, but if you boil some water and add it in, they take three minutes to cook. Easy peasy. You can do 'overnight oats' in mason jars, and it's essentially the same thing.
- Hard boiled eggs and some fruit. My friend did this when she was getting ready for figure competitions and she said it was her 'saving grace'. I don't eat eggs, but I do something comparable by eating a protein bar (Clif Builder's are my favourite) and an apple or clementines.
- A toasted English muffin with a spread (cheese, hummus, avocado, etc.), and your protein of choice (leftover chicken, veggie patty, turkey ,seitien, etc.)
- Chia pudding. Take a 1:4 ratio of chia seeds and your non-dairy milk of choice, stir, and let it sit overnight. It has a texture that feels like tapioca pudding, and if you add sliced fruit into it, it's pretty dang amazing. I use soy milk for the protein content, but I know some people love coconut milk.
- A protein shake. Protein powder, frozen (or raw) fruit, and non-dairy milk (or water). Again, I use soy milk, but a non-sweetened version to avoid too much excess sugar - the banana I use adds enough as it is.
- If you don't mind food prep, making breakfast sandwiches and/or burritos ahead of time and freezing them works really well. You can just pop them in the microwave after making a big batch of them on the weekend and get ready while they're cooking.
- Again, this is for if you don't mind some prep the night before. I have a friend who swears by pre-cutting a massive amount of veggies and pre-scrambling eggs, putting them in separate containers, and come morning just cooks the veggies a little bit before pouring the eggs over the top to make a scramble. I do something similar, but with tofu instead of eggs.
I hope this helped!1 -
Wow, that's really really great advice, thanks for your time to write all of this amazing ideas I'll surely try some of it, the one with protein powder sounds very interesting thanks again0

Hard boiled eggs for the win! If you drink coffee, you can mix protein powder with your coffee. Yum1

You're welcome! I was happy to write it all out. I hope at least one of those works for you.1

I feel you 100%. We eat breakfast in the car most days.
I love cream cheese and veggies on toast SO MUCH, but since you can't eat dairy - 2 slices of Weight Watchers bread, half an avocado, and a sliced hard boiled egg or a fried egg. And sriracha .
Or a tortilla with turkey bacon, a fried egg, and spinach.

Nothing like hard boiled eggs. Nonfat greek yogurt with a good protein granola thrown in for good measure should last you for a while.0

My fiance leaves for work at 3:30am. He pretty much wakes up, puts pants on and goes because he is tired. So to help give him some energy for his long, physically demanding work day. I make him a smoothie every night and have it ready so he can just drink it on his way to work. I make his with almond milk, so no dairy.0

Yep! I flash freeze my burritos and can make them around 225-250 calories each. I also do the hard boiled eggs or make a frittata/egg bake/egg muffins to heat and eat all week.

Fage Greek yoghurt - with berries (or any of your favourite fruits or toppings) is good for on-the-go breakfast or snack. Even for some with lactose intolerance:
