If I'm eating between 1200 to 1500 calories a day how much should I be exercising? Right now I do between 30 to 45 minutes 5 to 6 days a week.

Exercise as much or as little as you can/want to. Calorie deficit=weight loss, exercise=fitness.3

Ok so it really doesn't matter how long per day I work out? I figured if I may be switched to an hour 3 days a week I'd lose more weight.0

Do what you can and are comfortable with. The key is to form new healthier habits that you can stick with.0

Losing weight is all about calorie deficit. If you control the calories you eat, then there is no "need" for exercise.
However, the real benefit of exercise (sure you burn a few calories) is fitness & health. Strength training, a moderate deficit and a decent amount of protein helps to protect existing lean muscle mass. I strength train for fat loss. I do cardio to increase my stamina & because it's good for my heart. I would rather be thin & fit....instead of just thin.1 -
Exercise helps create more deficit so yes it should equal more loss per week....if you don't eat ALL those exercise calories back of course.0
