Help with motivation?

Hello, just joined the app and saw the forums. I lost 250# about 10 yrs ago, and slowly, 50# has crept back leaving me nearly at 300# again. I went to a bariatric surgeon last week and with all my medical issues he isn't sure he can do the surgery at all! I have several autoimmune diseases and take a lot of medication for them, one being prednisone and the other is ibuprofen. I've not had either for 3 weeks and I hurt so badly I can barely move! This is so hard...how can I move more when when I hurt so much even sitting in a chair? I want this surgery but I'm starting to worry that my quality of life is already going downhill when I can't even walk to the bathroom without wanting to scream! Any suggestions, thoughts, etc, would be most appreciated!

The majority of weight loss happens in the kitchen. Find healthy meals, food prep, eat to nourish your body, and stay within your calorie limits. You could try swimming or exercises that you can do while sitting! Motivation is something past "I don't feel like it" - it's reaching inside yourself and finding WHY you're doing it even when you don't feel like it. Knowing that healthy is the only option and nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.0

I was doing great but a knee injury since March has me in pain
I was still exercising despite pain but now I need to stop
So motivation at its lowest
Finding myself wanting to eat more sweets ect
Have been on Jenny Craig down 23 pounds but lack of exercise has halted my weight loss0 -

You need to look at your diet. Get in the proper amount of calories for your height and weight - 2300 calories is around maintenance. If you eat 1800 calories per day, weighing everything and logging correctly, you'll lose a pound per week even without exercise. 1500 calories will give you a loss of one and a half pound per week. 1800 - 1500 calories of nutritious food is a lot of food and you can decide yourself what you want to eat to make a delicious diet.
Bariatric surgery will only force you to eat less. If you can eat less without surgery, you'll be much better off.1 -
Ninety percent of weight loss happens in the kitchen! If you can't exercise, that isn't a problem. Managing what you eat, there's the rub.
Many times, weight loss is not a question of how much you eat as much as it is what you eat. For instance, you can polish off 12 ounce bag of chips and a sleeve of Oreos and still feel hungry since your body didn't get the nutrients it needed (believe me, I've done it). Or you can eat a healthy green salad with spinach and broccoli and carrots and your pick of veggies... and pig out on it! I eat a 1-pound salad for dinner every night; even with dressing and cheese and a few croutons, it's only about 200 calories.
Don't give up on yourself. If you're into reading, I recommend 'Eat to Live' by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. It's sort of a dry read since he cites so much research, but it has helped me, my husband and my parents lose quite a lot of weight! He advocates a plant-based diet. It is difficult to get your head around at first ("I can't do that, I have to eat meat!"), but once you read the book it makes complete sense. We still eat meat occasionally, and we're not crazy vocal vegan animal-hugging people, but we've seen it work and are believers!
