I've just started my umpteenth diet and desperate to make it work this time. I'm looking to share meal ideas and encouragement

Trying, diet, and desperate - all red flags...
Weight loss is simple, but not necessarily easy. It takes an effort, but shouldn't be excruciating. You can make it easier, or harder, for yourself. Just set a reasonable calorie goal, log accurately, consistently and honestly, have realistic expectations, measure results correctly, and be patient, and the weight will come off.2 -

I recently started MFP and love being able to scan UPCs and am learning how to measure properly. If you stay within the calorie goal MFP gives you, then you will lose weight. I found that last week I was hitting my goal before dinner time. That was an eye opener. Now I plan ahead so that I can save calories for dinner. I'm starting my second week today with excitement that I have the right app that is working for me with MFP. Try using the scanner. It is fun.2
