I was prescribed celexa after suffering severe PPD. I was slowly weaned off of it, after a 45 lb weight gain. I usually lose weight when I stick to the program, but after stopping celexa, these pounds are hard-fought. Anyone have any experience with losing weight after gains on an SSRI? I've mentioned it to my MD, and I know it takes time, I'm just curious if anyone else's metabolism was shot and eventually came back.

    I'm on celexa but didn't gain any weight.

    It took me a year of being off prescription meds to get back to normal and a proper weight. It was a very slow gradual change and I kept working at getting back to my old self with just basic care. I went from 2XL to a size Medium. I still have some more to lose but I feel a lot better.

    i've lost weight on it by counting calories and staying active
