So before anyone says it yes I absolutely weigh everything in grams and log it on here. I scan barcodes or enter it myself every time.
I am 5ft 4 and currently weigh 11st 2lb, my start weight was 13st 12lb. I am trying to get to 10st but the last part is happening so slowly! I have cut out alcohol and I eat around 1300-1400 calories per day.I went over one day this week and ate 1600 calories- surely that shouldn't have stalled all my efforts??

Weight loss is not linear. There are literally dozens of things that will affect whether or not you lose, gain or maintain in any given week. If you are close to ovulation or menstruation in your cycle, that usually (not always, but for the majority of women) will cause a stall or even gain from fluid retention. Adding or increasing exercise can do it. Eating more carbs than your usual, or a high sodium meal can do it. Heck, some days just breathing seems to do it haha - it is perfectly normal to have daily fluctuations ranging up to a pound or more of "gain!" (this is a big part of why I weigh nearly daily, because if I was weighing only one a week, what if my weigh-in day was one of the random higher-weight daily fluctuation days? It works well for me, not for everyone though, but I do like the numbers and as long as the trend is DOWN it doesn't bother me to see a few ups).
It is sadly a slow process - certainly much (MUCH) slower than gaining, but worth it. Be patient!6 -

As mentioned above, weight loss isn't linear, and depending on your circumstances you can actually remain the same weight and still lose fat.
Try not to get dissapointed, you've done great so far, the last few pounds are always the hardest to lose2 -
Thank you makes me feel a bit better! I may have had a bit too much salt on my food yesterday I suppose lol. I do weigh every day but only record it on a Saturday morning. Ill try again tomorrow0

Good girl! If you've upped your salt intake your body will retain more water also!0 -
Cut this thread off before it continues and listen to above. You have done great, Continue what your doing and dont second guess yourself. Dont let it stress you out that can actually make it worse. As long as you continue to eat a deficit and make it healthy foods and continue what you were doing so successfuly you should not let it worry you.0

Unfortunately no, if you want to maintain your weight loss...(I, at least can dream of seriously ridiculous amounts of ice cream and pizza!). The trick with maintaining at goal weight is not treating weight loss as "a diet" followed by "eat All The Things" but by treating it as a permanent life style change.
Which is why I am eating small amounts of pizza and ice cream and chocolate and cakes within my calorie limit. On the basis that to maintain I will have to eat only slightly more, as old habits lead to old weight.

Not quite what I meant.
When you hit your goal you can have a cheat weekend and big out, won't do any harm, I wasn't suggesting she carried on eating pizza every da0 -
