Hey all

Ive been losing more then 2 lbs a week - in the past 20 days i went from 279 down to 264, i figured it would slow after the first week or two, but even this week im down another 3-4 lbs.

I know the healthiest approach is 2 lbs a week.. but as of now im eating 2130 calories a day (admittedly some days im shy 5-600 calories, but ussually i fill those up with a bowl of cereal ha) and so far, i dont go to bed hungry, ive been hitting my macros pretty closely (50% carb, 30% fat 20% protein) and all in all -- been feeling pretty satisfied food and hunger wise.

Should i just keep going at this.. assuming it will start to slow down in a few more weeks or do i up my calories to get that 2lb a week loss?

First, men can lose faster for some reason. Second, you lose a lot of water weight in the beginning. And finally, the more you have to lose, the easier it is at first. Stick to your 2130 (and never go below 1500). If you really feel it's too fast, eat more! But it'll probably slow down soon. What's your TDEE?

If you're eating 2130 a day and still making such great progress and feeling great, I say keep doing what you're doing.

Sure, keep going. You're nowhere near trouble. I started from 272 in January and pretty quickly got my calories down to 1300 for several weeks, losing 2-3 lb every week and feeling fine. The community persuaded me to raise my calorie intake and I did, getting it over 1400 for several weeks now and I'm still losing 2-3 lb every week. When are you going to start heavy lifting?

You'll notice soon that you have no difficulty feeling full on your lower intake level. That's when this becomes just easy.

umm according to this calculator my TDEE is 3305? Im using MFP recommended calories for lightly active and 2 lbs a week.

Speaking of feeling great - So far ive been amazed with my energy at work now that i dont stuff my face.. Most every day i would feel sluggish and tired. Since i started this its been like a 180 i go in with energy.. i still sometimes am a little tired but overall i feel a lot better. Oddly enough, i use to drink a monster every morning and once i quit this i see it didnt do anything for me.. possibly just made things worse.

Im thinking once im about 220-230ish i will actually start lifting. I work a pretty active job, (shipping) so im frequently lifting heavy things (80-90+ lbs) and not to worried about much muscle loss... or should i be even with frequent lifting at work?

this happened to me also. I started at 207 lbs and in three weeks I was down to 192 lbs. I posted about this worried I was losing to fast, the general consensus was alot of that was water weight and it would slow down after a while. they were absolutely right! that third week I lost 7 lbs, and then the next it was 2 and a half. : )

Depends how regularly you lift. I've had jobs that were lifting all day and I didn't need to lift at the gym.
