Trying to get in better shape

Hi my name Laura and I just joined a few days ago. I am trying to get in better shape. I have gone from being on five blood pressure medications to one and would like to get off that one as well. I also am a well controlled diabetic type 2 and if can lose about 40 pounds my doctor will consider taking me off my metformin and glimepiride. These are my two biggest goals. I recently purchased a Garmin Vivofit 2 fitness tracker and have been averaging between 14,000 to 20,000 steps a day. I basically am looking for friends on here to support me and to share successes and times when falling short with.

    Hi laura! Sounds like you are making tremendous progress in the motivation and step department! Having a group of friends through myfitnesspal can be very helpful I've found. Checking in daily and commenting on peoples progress can in turn motivate you too!
