Weighing Foods

I'm trying to tighten up my calorie count since I've hit a plateau.
2 questions:
1. I'm finding a broad range of digital kitchen scales on the market-are the more expensive ones truly better? Anyone have a brand they recommend?
2. What foods do you weigh versus measure with a measuring cup? Or do you weigh everything including things like PB that I would normally measure out with a tbsp? Do you weigh prepackaged foods as well?
Thanks in advance!

Any scale with a tare function is really all you need.

I weigh pretty much all solid food. For liquids I look at the nutrition label to see if it's listed in Gs or MLs. As for prepackaged foods, I weigh them 4-5 times just to make sure that it actually weighs what the package says it should weigh.

Always always measure peanut butter with a scale. It's amazing how a a tablespoon of peanut butter is never really just a tablespoon of peanut butter.

    1. Look for a scale that allows you to weigh in grams and ounces and has a tare button. Brand doesn't matter, but you should be able to find them for under $20.
    2. Weigh everything. Even prepackaged foods can weigh more than the serving says.
