Can anyone tell me why week 5 day 3 is harder than week 6 day 1???

    Your body cannot go hard 100% of the time. Running is very tough on your body and going hard all the time will only lead to injury and little progress (or even regression). You must include slower/easier recovery runs between your hard runs and rest days.

    That would be my guess as to why week 6, day 1 is easier.

    I think w5 d3 is also scheduled then for a psychological reason. Up until then you have been doing a mix of run and walk. If you can do this first long run then the barrier of needing a walk break - however short- has been broken.

    If you can do this one 20 minute run then in your head everything that is to come is doable!

    I did a happy dance when I ran that day and it still makes me smile to think of it!

    Yes I got a massive shocker on w5day3 lol! I was able to complete.
