Just yesterday I did 15 minutes of squats. 425 squats in total! What about you? Do you do sets?

On lower body days (2x a week) I do probably around 70 barbell back squats (5x5 are my working sets but I pyramid up and down to it) and about 30-40 barbell hack squats. I do a few bodyweight squats (especially *kitten* to grass buddha type) here and there for mobility purposes.

100 each day swinging a 15lb kettlebell between my legs. That's a workout.

These are body weight squats, right? Good place to start but that's a LOT of squats and wear and tear on the knees.

I certainly don't do squats every day. More like 3 times per week and I do a wide variety of them with varying weights in sets. I don't count them as far as quantity. It's more about quality to me which means lower reps and heavier weights.

I did 3x8@285lb yesterday. That came with 10 bodyweight, then 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 with various warmup weights. So that puts me at 59 total. I do that 2-3x/week but the weight varies (typically going up).

Saturday I did 4 x 8 x 115, then 2 x 10 x 35 goblet squats, then 2 x 10 x 40 goblet squats. That was the beginning of quads day. The program I am currently on has a hamstrings day, a push day, a quads day and a pull day. Fun stuff.
God only knows how many bodyweight plies I do during a dance class...I don't count them.

there is no way i will ever do 425 squats in one day. on my squat day i do maybe 20-30 working weight squats, and maybe 30 - 40 warmup squats.

my usual work out... herm- let me count
    8 bar squats
    1 x 5
    1 x 4
    2 x 3
    3 x 2
    6 x 4

So that's 53- depending on that last working set.
and then I do another set of
    1 x 5
    1 x 4
4 x 3 usually (this is subject to change)
    which is 21- so 74-

    I'd say I average 70-85 squats.
which is more than I thought.

Why are you doing that much? For muscle endurance?

For me (now that I'm back to it) once a week (not a day) at 5 sets of 8-10, so 50 at most.

I'm pretty sure the OP is referring to body weight squats.

Body weight squats are great, but only get you so far. They definitely helped me with form and flexibility until I could squat with weights.

Hence making your response an apples-to-oranges comparison, but your snark is duly noted.

It all depends on how often I go to the bathroom... Hmmm... 1 first thing in the morning... then again at lunch... and maybe one more before bedtime... so.. a minimum of 3 EVERY day...

Well I generally only do 5-10 reps with 4-5 sets. Gradually trying to add more weight on every session, if you don't then your progress will slowly dwindle down to nothing.
Trust me man, don't even bother with her. She's made snarky comments in every thread she's participated in. Some people just kind of would rather rip at the less informed rather than try and give them useful advice.

You're right- as long as I've been here- I've only ever pissed on downtrodden and never given any helpful advice.

    sure.okay.

Also- funny enough- you gave the same type of answer I did.

    weighted squats.
