Feeling Sad

I picked up my boyfriend this afternoon and headed to the gym. As we were walking towards Planet Fitness' "judgement free zone" entrance, 3 guys drove by me and one of them screamed "Fat *kitten*!" out of the window. I was mortified. Not only did my boyfriend hear this, but so did several other people in the parking lot. I could not go into the gym. Instead, my boyfriend and I left and went home. He tried to cheer me up, but I was emotional for a long while.

Do not give them the power to control how you feel about yourself. You can lose weight. Those jerks will be jerks forever. This isn't about them, it's about you, and only you have control over your life. Do not hand that control to some idiot who has nothing but drive-by slurs to make them feel better.
You made the decision to go to the gym, you made the decision to be healthier, you made the decision to change your life. NEVER let some jerk derail that for you. Don't be sad. Be angry. And use that anger to fuel your next workout.
I'm sorry this happened to you.0 -
Haters be your motivators? Screw them get whats yours and reach your fitness goals.0

I'm sorry that happened to you, but you know by now unfortunately there are some not so nice people in this world. You're here looking for some sympathy (you got that from your boyfriend), but at MFP we give both, and the hard truth is you let them win by turning around and not going into the gym. Hopefully you'll get to a point where you'll walk INTO the gym and let that motivate you to work even harder. Success is the best revenge! You can lose the weight, but they will always be jerks. You can do it! :flowerforyou:0

Some people are just a$$es, I know its easier said then done, but try not to let rude people get you down. You can do this! Good luck on your journey0

You let some douches take your workout away from you??? By going straight home you allowed them power over you, and let them dictate how you live. Shame on you! I would have gone in there and busted *kitten* twice as hard to show them up.
Get back in there tomorrow girlfriend, make some fat cry, and never EVER let anyone take a workout away from you again!0 -

they are sad excuses of man kind, pitiful things they are, let go and let God I'm sure he has plans for them, they are ugly inside and out, can't fix ugly. Don't give them the power over you, you went to feel better , I know it hurts , believe me I know, You are beautiful inside and a work in progress outside, shake it off, let that situation be the starting point of this healthy journey. You have someone who is proud of , enough he is willing to go with you to the gym, honey don't let this derail a great choice, Hold your head high and get back to that gym and show that man of yours those sloths have no power over you. THIS IS YOUR LIFE, LIVE IT ON YOUR TERMS, xxoo BB0

Except - don't even need to get angry, those idiots aren't worth it, I wouldn't spend an ounce of energy or thought on them. Save your energy for you and for the people you love. There are always going to be mean and stupid people in the world0 -
I completely agree. Let no one control what YOU do.0

Wave it off honey, they just haven't been loved enough in their childhood.
