Portable Ramadan treats?

I'm not Muslim but I have a good friend who is. From her, i have learned that Ramadan is harder when it occurs during the long summer days. I appreciate her devotion and also like to try new things so I am looking for something fun to try that I can also share with her which I would bring to her before the workday ends but she wouldn't be able to eat for at least 3 hours.

She is Iranian and prefers sour tastes but her family all like sweets. Any ideas for something that will broaden my horizons and will also keep a few hours? Needs to have widely available ingredients, too. No ethnic groceries here.

I recommend mango or banana milk shake for someone who is fasting. She will not say No to it:smile:

    How about fasting with her?

Just seems to make more sense to me than bringing her something she might not like, and can't eat anyway.

Oh, she only fasts during the day making the evening meal more special. We share a love of food and trade recipes already and she brought me some saffron rice she made last year. I am probably looking for ideas in the wrong place, though!
    Nevermind!
