Should I update my goals every month if I lose more than the set goal?

Right now I'm trying to lose 3% per month for a couple months, then eventually move down to 2%.
So far this month I've lost close to 6%, so I was wondering if I should change my goal to be 3% of my weigh in this month, or just keep a rough copy of the amount I wanted to lose per month for the next year.
Sorry if this is confusing haha. I just want to be sure I'm not pushing myself too much, but if I can lose more weight in a shorter amount of time by increasing the goals a little bit, I'd be pretty happy.

I'm just going day by day.
Just make sure you're getting the right amount of calories and keep up the fitness.0 -
Is this your first month? If so, I wouldn't worry - half of the 6% could be "Beginners losses".
If it's not your first month, I would recommend to slow down. While knowing you're losing that fast is great, weightloss is a really, really good example of "slow and steady wins the race". You shrink slower, giving your skin a little time to shrink with you, you have more energy, less likely to crash and burn and you get to eat more! Win, win & win!0 -
I would sit tight for now. If you're in the 0.1-2 lbs/week rate of weight loss, then you're doing great! Just be sure that you're eating enough. For sure, you shouldn't eat less than 1200 cal/day. If you're loosing weight at a good pace above that, you're in good shape. You don't have a terrible amount of weight to lose, so keep on rocking it!
If you are eating ~1200 cal/day, then I would work your calories up some and see if you can't make similar progress eating in the 1400-1700 cal/day range.0 -
This is my first month, so I'm sure a lot of it just water weight at this point. But I'm eating 1550 calories a day, so I'm not quite at 1200. But I also eat about 1/4-1/2 of my exercise calories back every day that I do cardio. I guess I'll just stick with my current goals then. Thanks guys.0

I update every 20-25 lbs. It's been working so far.0

Where'd you get the 2% and 3% goals from? The number I read here is 1%.
I see you only have 54 pounds to lose - losing around a pound a per week is a reasonable goal for the next 30 pounds.0
