I have eaten breakfast probably twice since last summer and lost 61lb. The timing of meals makes no difference, just the total calories consumed in a day. And your metabolism keeps going all the time, unless you're dead, so ignore that myth!4

your metabolism does not start until breakfast
To me this is a bunch of baloney. My basic rule is to eat when I am hungry. This worked for me in losing weight/dropping bodyfat but also when I was bulking. I don't listen to everyone else I listen to my body. Good luck.2 -
I don't know if it's true, but if you feel happier and healthier without breakfast then don't have it. I suspect that it can't make that much of a difference.
If you're still reaching your goals then I guess there's no need to change what you're doing.1 -
Your metabolism basically is just your body processing energy to keep you alive. "Metabolism is a term that is used to describe all chemical reactions involved in maintaining the living state of the cells and the organism"
If it didn't magically kick in until a predetermined time, we would either be dead or very sick.
Breakfast is very important for SOME people as it can help wake you up for the day and by eating early, you avoid the 10am munchies.
I sometimes eat breakfast, but usually wont - I might have some instant hot chocolate/coffee but that's about it. I feel much more satisfied saving those calories for dinner and my varying work hours means breakfast would some days be at 4am and other days 8:30am. It's just much easier to hold off until lunch for me.4 -
There is no meal that is more important than another - it's a whole pile of bunk about breakfast being most important. Agree with dhimaan... eat when hungry. Eat the right things. Eat the right quantity.

If your metabolism didn't start, you wouldn't be alive. Don't eat breakfast if you don't want to. That myth was actually started by breakfast food manufacturers.3

Check out articles about intermittent fasting like the link below. Breakfast is a meal, nothing more.

Not true at all. Your metabolism is working 24/7. Meal timings don't make any appreciable difference. Eat when it suits you.1

If you aren't hungry for breakfast, don't eat it. Meal timing doesn't matter in terms of CICO, but it plays a role in making it easier for you to stick to your calorie goals (it might be easier to stick to your goals if you time your meals according to your typical appetite versus if you followed some bimbo who tells you "you must eat every xyz hours/you must not eat after y time/you have to eat xyz" when it goes against your natural appetite). Personally, I don't eat breakfast until 1-3 hours after I wake up (especially if I plan on going for a morning jog -I cannot tolerate jogging with a full stomach).
Remember: if you have no metabolism, you would be dead.2
