Counting Carbs

I always see different grams of carbs referenced for low carb-ers (<100g?), or Keto people (<50g?)
Are they referencing net or gross carbs?
Is net carbs simply carbs-fiber? Or does this subtract sugar alcohols like a Quest bar calculates them?

Everyone is different. Some count total carbs, some count net. I subtract fiber from vegetables, but avoid sugar alcohols altogether because they can mess with my blood sugar. 107 lbs gone since Jan 2015. Blood sugar and blood pressure are now normal.0

If you want to be 100% go for all of them and count them all. I never did subtract fiber or sugar alcohols when I did low carb because it was my understanding that those things do indeed still impact the body in different ways. But people do both, so try it either way you prefer and assess results.1
