Your blood type and the food you eat.

No, I'm not implying certain foods make certain blood types lose weight. We all know that comes from a calorie deficit!

But, has anyone heard of your blood type and the foods you eat causing flare ups in certain autoimmune/ inflammation issues? Example: I have severe plaque psoriasis on my foot, and my blood type is O. It is rumored that my blood type should avoid starches such as bread, pasta, potatoes, kidney beans, navy beans etc to reduce inflammation of my issue.

Is this another fad thing? Has anyone experimented with this, and what were the results? I love pasta and bread so cutting that down to a very minimum would sucks, but I'd be willing to do this to find some relief!

If your blood type is O, the only things you need to avoid are blood transfusions from people with other blood types.

I suppose, in theory, perhaps you might have a problem if drinking human blood. Although I think the no-human-blood diet is something pretty much everyone should be on.

Fish Oil? Do you take it?
My husband takes 2 pills a day in morning and at night.
And in just a year, it has almost all cleared up.
We also eat baked (not fried) fish once a week.
We also drastically cut back on drinking alcohol for our health's sake.
    He started drinking more water

For pasta, we eat whole wheat pasta.
It takes less to make you full and you feel full longer.
We use less tomato sauce by adding a can of diced tomatoes drained.
Gave up on bread as a side. Not worth the calories.

I don't take fish oil, no. They do have the tasteless/burp less kind, right? Alcohol is a rarity for me, a drink every few months. The pasta has been cut back a lot since I'm trying to lose weight now...I do love it though ;) white, wheat, rice....all the noodles!

I like a nice sandwich or wrap for breakfast or lunch, but perhaps I'll find another "container" for the fillings. Lol. Thanks for the genuine reply. ;) I'll be discussing dietary needs with my PCP(if I can ever get a day off work lol) for this auto immune issue, and will grab some fish oil next payday! The psoriasis used to not be this bad, but the flare ups have been getting worse and it's uncomfortable

I also add chia seeds or flaxmeal to foods.
Essentially cutting back on Omega 6's and upping Omega 3's.
    Open diary.

If you want to check for food intolerances, stop eating something for three weeks. Then bring it back to your diet to see if you react.
Can the PCP run some blood work for autoimmune markers?

He certainly would. I'm blessed with a great physician that listens to concerns and actually sits and talks with me. The only physical sign/symptom of autoimmune I have is the patch of psoriasis on my right foot. Can't afford/don't want to take the meds dermatologists recommend for it. Thousands of dollars a month to put my lover at risk? No thanks! Appreciate your ideas!

Unfortunately, taking starch out of the diet will have to wait till Sunday. Meeting friends, some I haven't seen in years, for a Mexican night, and I gotta have my taco! ;) lol

I have several autoimmune diseases that are well diagnosed and monitored by my doctor. I am being treated quite effectively for these issues. The only advice I'm getting with regard to food is to eat less of it. Weight loss and improved health most certainly improve these conditions. Oh, and a good lotion for eczema.

A lot of "food intolerances" are diagnosed by people without the letters MD after their name.

Science has said there is no basis to this.
