I'm not much of a fan of fruit I only like:

Cherrys | Berrys | Granny Smith Apples | Water Melon | Lemon | Lime | Coconut | Peaches | Plums | Grapes | banana

Same with vegetables:

Carrots | lettuce | avocado | sprouts | cucumber | beans | peas | spinach | onion | mushroom | pepper | chilli | pickles | sweetcorn | cabbage | broccoli | cauliflower

I hate hate hate nuts, seeds and dry or cooked fruit! Also yoghurt, wholemeal pasta/rice/tortillas etc

Generally for breakfast/1st break at work (anytime between 10-11am) I take in a salad (mainly lettuce) with mackeral in a sauce or tuna with pickle
Lunch (anytime between 3-4pm) I tend to have chicken & rice.

I want to try something different. I see these lovely looking pictures of plates full of different fruit or bowls of salad but then think 'I don't like most of that'.

Anyone got any ideas for really tasty salads &/or lunches?

Please bare in mind I work on a busy hospital admissions ward so need something to keep me going for 12.5 hrs.

Well, that's plenty of variety. . .but if you are going to be picky, you'll probably just have to bring most of your own food from home.

Hi, it's easy to typecast yourself, but in so doing you might just be condemning yourself to eating badly.
Check out how many times you eat highly spiced foods like pickles, mustards and curry. It might be that your taste buds need a little rest before subtler flavours can be enjoyed. I'd suggest cutting out the relishes for a while and seeing if your tastes change.
    Good luck

I do bring food from home. After writing it I realised that the list isn't as restrictive as I was thinking. Just need to be creative.

Curry (Indian meal) once a week and mustard never. I have never liked nuts or seeds even as a kid and I don't use relishes so can't cut them out.

I could eat sprouts, avocado and mushroom all day if I could.

Obviously I'd have lots of protein with my meals.

Nuts and seeds are not a necessary part of any nutrition plan. As a matter of fact, they are not filling, have a lot of fat, and did I mention they aren't filling? No need to like nuts and/or seeds. Some of them have trace minerals that are beneficial, and the Omegas are beneficial, but you're eating avocado and fish (and I assume some form of grains like bread or cereal,) so that takes care of those.

I would say just don't let other people define what is good for you and what you "should" be eating. We all have individual tastes and preferences. Mine change over the years, but I'm still not a fan of certain things.

Cauliflower can be made into fried rice. Check out some vegan recipes for ideas on how to change up some of your veggie recipes.
Spinach nuggets are wonderful and filling
