Someone sent m e strange friend request yesterday

A guy sent me an email asking me to be his MFP friend but I wasn't going to friend anyone with a swastika in his photo. I initially put an email about this in "fitness and exercise" but was reprimanded about something else in his photo. Strange.

To be honest though, until the Nazis used the symbol it was actually a symbol that represented strength, power and good luck. So maybe they were using it for that type of meaning?
I do get that it's now mostly used as a negative symbol but that hasn't always been the case.
I'm Pagan and have a Pentacle tattoo, I often get asked if I am a Satanist based on this **shakes head**0 -

Thx for the info.0 -
That's weird. I had an mfp friend request yesterday from a young German guy, in his 20's, really into keeping fit etc. It was odd because I couldn't immediately see a connection with any of my current mfp friends (didn't have a lot of time to look) and couldn't understand why a 20 year old German guy would want to friend a - ahem - mature English lady with no interests in common. I rejected it & thought no more about it until I saw your post.
Coincidence?0 -
This guy's profile says:
About Me:
19 years old and im 100 kg ( 220 pounds) ,Im over obese and im not in the weighing scale anymore, i do jog in the morning and evening up and down the HILL but i always lose my motivations .
Above his profile name it says:
23 years old
Male
"IM FAT and im gonna make some CHANGES on that"0 -

It's amazing how many people don't know the difference between a pentacle and a pentagram.0 -
Pentacle and pentagam are officially essentially synonyms now though. So, if that's how the dictionary defines it, it's hardly " people's " fault.
Really jus the evolution of language.0 -

I highly doubt he uses the Swastika to promote peace0 -

Yes, of course I declined the request.0

I get the ocassional Friend Request. Some I accept, most I don't, but.... what I do not do is go into the forums and point out why I think someone is unworthy to be my friend or point out to everyone what I think might be wrong with this person.0

It is still used in Hindu households during festive decorations. You can check out a colorful pic here:

As for the swastika, I wouldn't accept that request. It may have once had a positive meaning, but everyone alive knows its extremely negative associations.0 -
I would not accept that FR either.0
-
I believe the Nazi swastika is different to the Hindu one as it is the rotated image of it.
As in here:0 -

Yeah but mine's not upside down so nothing to do with Satanism lol. I wouldn't have any problem at all with someone calling my Pentacle a pentagram.
I guess all I am trying to point out is that if I had a Pentacle as my photo someone may not accept a friend request as they might think it was a Satanist symbol. But it doesn't take too long to take a look online and figure it out.0 -
Myofibril: Thanks. That was what I Tried to explain.0

Strange friend requests have become a common place for me. Actually, kind of a requirement.0
