Anyone else training to compete in aNinja Warrior competition?? I lost 30 lbs last year and am now 5'5 135, working towards lowering my weight closer to 115-120. I am hoping to compete in the American Ninja Warrior challenge next year. Does anyone else have similar goals??

I dream of qualifying, but I also know that at my age, that's not likely to happen. Still, I am setting it as a goal.

Very cool! I hope that you do get to compete! My goals are not there yet but not a bad idea to at least move towards that.

I'm 5'3" and 136 lbs, also aiming to lower my weight to the 120s.

I started ninja training last September but I didn't work up for it properly and I got a really bad triceps strain injury in November (could barely raise my arm), and I'm finally a month away from finishing up with Physical Therapy (it's been a long recovery!). Needless to say, I'm going to get into rock climbing and make sure my body is better prepared before I transition back to the ninja gyms.

Hi! I'm a former mma amateur and I would absolutely love to do ninja warrior! I am working to get back in shape still and I think I have a few years of work ahead of me before I would qualify. What kind of work are you doing to prepare? Do you rock climb? I feel like taking up rock climbing would make me a better ninja.

I watch the show a lot - I have zero chances (or desire) of participating, but from what I've seen, a lot of the obstacles require exceptional grip strength. As a result, contestants who have a solid background in rock-climbing seem to do very well. Good luck!

I'm more into OCR, but have tons of respect for ninjas. Just remember those on tv have been training for years and years. As with any training, take your time, do it the right way, and enjoy the ride! Best of luck :)

I am rock climbing twice a week (currently climbing outdoors while the weather is nice), I go to my personal trainer once a week where I am working on strength training, speed, and agility, I am running 2-3 days a week, and am doing body weight exercises daily including chin ups, push ups, hand stand push ups, and dips. I have a salmon ladder in my backyard and I'm working towards being able to do that.

I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, JKD...I compete in BJJ, and I'd love to make it to a Pan Ams or World's. Go for it! I hope you make it!

I wish this would have been around in my 20's. While I could try to attempt this in my 50's, I'd have to lose a lot of weight due to all the hand gripping obstacles (carrying 200lbs on a 5'7" body won't cut it). And what really deterred me was watching a 50 year old in pretty good shape rupture his Achilles tendon. And that's a major injury for anyone at any age, but at 50 the recovery time could end up being more than a year to be able to be in good physical condition again.
