Hi everyone! I'm addicted to candy and came here for tips on how to limit sweets. Got any advice? I have two young, energetic children so candy is my stress relief. Feel free to add me as I keep an open food diary and love new friends! :)

I buy dark chocolate kisses - 21 calories each. I typically eat five a day, letting each one melt in my mouth a little.

Frankly, I don't think there is anything wrong with having sweets in your diet. I eat a small amount of dark chocolate (8g or so) on a fairly regular basis, fitting it into my calorie budget for the day. I buy high quality chocolate bars and I weigh the portions out on my food scale.

Dark chocolate is full of flavonoids and is actually a healthy addition to the diet, provided that you make meeting your basic nutritional needs (macronutrients and micronutrients) your top priority.

However, my advice, if you want to limit sweets and you can't seem to manage eating a single portion at a time, is simple: Stop purchasing them. You can't eat them if you don't buy them.

Get the rest of your diet in order, count calories, exercise regularly and when you've got it all together, then try to see if you can add sweets back to your diet in reasonable portions, fitting them into your calorie plan.

I enjoy chocolate almost every day, yesterday I ate a lot of it, but I fit it into my calorie goals.

I feel a piece of candy once in a while if fine. My issue is it somehow makes me want to eat more of..... Everything... Like, I'll start off innocent enough one chewy strawberry twizzler (I think is 40 cal.) It's my reaction to the sugar after it opens my appetite. Not sure if others get this reaction or I'm just weird.... Ummm unique.
