It appears I have inverse psoriasis (underarms). Does anyone have experience with inverse psoriasis, and if so, can you provide me with any dietary advice such as foods you've found to avoid?

Thanks for your input.

My husband has had regular psoriasis.
Two years ago he started taking fish oil. 2,000 mg daily total. One in am and one in pm.
I also put him on a healthy diet.
    No more fast food lunches

Last winter (when it's at it's worst) almost nothing showed.
We cut down on alcohol to only once a week.
And he is down to just 3 diet cokes or less a day (not sure if that helped, but it's saving me money).
He makes a protein shake before going to work.
He adds 1 tsp of flax meal to it. Made with skim milk.
$14 walmart blender. Pure protein from walmart chocolate protein powder.
I also cook with chia seeds.
Lowering the omega 6's and raising the omega 3's.
Takes a daily multivitamin. 500mg vit c pill.

Consider an elimination diet, like the Paleo AIP. I was able to identify several foods that were causing skin and joint reactions.

See a dermatologist, they can give you a topical ointment that can help.

I hope that this is not your case, but I developed inverse psoriasis as the first sign of breast cancer diagnosed about a year later. When they took out the tumor the psoriasis went away. This kind of manifestation of psoriasis is so rare that I could not find it in any medical journals, and the oncologist had never heard of it.

The point is that if you get this out of nowhere, get a thorough exam, including some of the things that might not be checked on a standard checkup. An anti-inflammatory diet is always a good idea. Good luck.
