Transitioning to Vegan!

I'm not new to MFP, but in the past, I used it for rather unhealthy reasons -- extreme weight loss obtained in the most unhealthy ways.
Now I'm back because I would like to improve my body image, and self esteem with a more healthy approach, and I would like to transition to vegan!
Vegans: how was your transition? What foods would you suggest giving up first, and what foods/recipes would you suggest me trying? :)

    Are you already vegetarian? I'm almost fully vegan now. I was vegetarian for about 5 years and have been making the transition over the past year or so. I would definitely frame it more as adding/replacing rather than giving up. For example, I just started using almond milk instead. And I started using hummus or peanut butter on my bagels. I started using olive oil instead of butter. Think of it as swapping, and focus on making the changes when you cook/prepare food. Going out to restaurants and eating with friends is the second hump - at least for me! I'm going vegan personally and then will complete the transition going out/with friends and family. I'm down to talk if you want!

    We are starting a new dietbet on June 1. It's helpful for those already vegan or transitioning. This is our third one and the community is great! I'm looking for the same results as you: improved body imagine and self esteem! Hope you'll join! Feel free to add me as a friend, too!
