I am going on a couple camping trips and I am going to the beach in 2 weeks. I just recently started counting my calories and struggling with cutting back on my food intake just 3 days ago. I am doing good so far and lost 5 lbs. so far. So I don't want to ruin my diet while on vacation, however, when I am camping and swimming and doing stuff like that, I get hungry & want to eat, and we usually cook out hamburgers and hotdogs when we camp. And when we go to the beach, we eat out every night. What are some good choices? What are some good low calorie, high fiber or high protein foods & snacks I can have while on camping trips or beach vacation?

This sounds so good I'm jealous!

Perfect opportunity to grill chicken breasts and fish, both high in protein and low in fat, plus they taste great chargrilled!

I've recently been grilling courgettes (zucchini), sweetcorn, tomatoes, peppers - can all be put onto skewers and taste great. Plus bananas and sweet potatoes.

As for snacks, I suppose its things that will travel / last well? Nuts / dried fruits could be an option?

Eating out is the tricky one, all you can do is try and make good choices I suppose, wherever possible, look at the menu in advance and plan what you'll eat, based on the other meals you'll be having that day.

    Have fun!

Pack stuff like cereal bars, dried fruits, nuts etc. for camping trip. For beach trip, when I'm away and we go out for drinks, I always go for gin w/ slim line tonic or wine spritzers/prosecco/champagne. As for foods - salads, grilled meats for both beach holiday and camping trip.

    Happy hols!
